Elan Vital: Brochures, Cards, Flyers and Pamphlets
Sab Dharti Kagaz Karu,
Lekhan Ban Raye.
Sath Samundra Ki Mas Karu
Guru Gun Likha Na Jaye
Prem Rawat when he was Guru Maharaji quoted this poem often. My favourite version of his is (Denver 25th Feb. 1979):
If you take all the earth and make it into paper,
take the entire ocean and make it into ink,
and take all the trees in this world and make them into pens,
you cannot write the glory of Guru Maharaj Ji.
But Rawat when he was Maharaji also said: "the instructors are trained to handle the situation" to "communicate it to people interested" so "turn the ball over to them" … "you can give an instructor's phone number on a card to an interested person." Those cards spawned flyers and brochures and pamphlets and these always required updating and replacing because the message and its presentation were always evolving and were never as immaculate as Maharaji demanded. I recall one Gold Coast local market's garbage bins overflowing with this expensive looking pamphlet Practice Peace.
Once the First Class system was up and running the formats were devised, acceptable fonts were trialled, sizing and positioning of text was debated and special Graphics Officers were appointed. Eventually even honcho Head Co-ordinators of countries thought it was all bit too much, especially all this work wasn't bring in new waves of paying customers as they were trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and it wasn't hard to identify the pig.
It seemed he might cut down all the trees, drain the oceans and use all the dirt to create low-key advertising
