Health & Safety
Amaroo's environment and climate can be demanding. The grounds of Ivory's Rock Conference Centre are designed for walking and there will be limited transport onsite. Broad rimmed hats, 30 plus sunscreen, umbrellas and comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.
Those with pre-existing health concerns should seek advice from their physician before travelling. Personal travel insurance with coverage for medical, surgical, and emergency travel is strongly recommended. There will be no Doctor available on site during the event.
Paramedics and an Ambulance will be located on site to respond to first aid needs and medical emergencies. If you need to be transferred by ambulance you will be responsible for the cost. Please check that your medical insurance will cover this.
Non emergency medical problems will be referred to local medical practitioners at your own expense.
People who have allergic reactions to bites and stings need to bring medication and soothing lotion recommended by their doctor.
If you require medication please bring an adequate supply as the site is remote from medical assistance and pharmacies.
Terrain and Climate
April is autumn at Amaroo. The average maximum daytime temperature is 26 Celsius (79 Fahrenheit). The average minimum evening temperature is 12 degrees Celsius (54 degrees Fahrenheit). Although April is not a particularly wet month, some rain is likely, so pack some wet weather gear. Due to weather conditions we suggest that you bring a hat, bottled water and a jacket to any event activities.
Assisted Access
For those with assisted access needs or medical conditions we have made the following arrangements:
Transport to and from Pavilion to all event sites
Block seating set aside in the event area for people with mobility problems, health problems, hearing and sight problems etc.
If you have specific medical needs please consider staying offsite for your own comfort.
We are investigating a special off-site accommodation package with a local hotel for those who have assisted access requirements. As information becomes available it will be posted here. If you require any additional support eg. a carer or special equipment please make your own arrangements.
There will be no special tent assignment as it is not possible with this many people to reserve special tents.
Offsite Accommodation
Travelworld Nerang has been appointed to handle off-site accommodation. Details of these packages are available on their website.
